One of the most common questions that we receive, apart from about our bamboo fabrics, is what are the best eco-friendly products that are effective at cleaning and keeping clothes and towels soft.
Finding the right eco friendly, laundry & house cleaning product in a supermarket is nigh on impossible, we've tried. Below we stock a range of effective products suitable for vegans and the eco friendly amongst us. They are all biodegradable and replace supermarket cleaning & laundry products.
There is the right product for you for your laundry, it is just a matter of choosing the right one below. We have tried them all and have removed some from our shelves that do not work and left these below.
Soap Flakes - For today's modern soft fabrics particularly towels (woollens, silk, bamboo, etc). The most effective cleaning product that is basically 100% flakes of soap. (Only for hand washing. Use the liquid form for machine washing).
Liquid Soap Flakes - Same as above soap flakes but liquid and can work in a washing machine. Actually works out 3p cheaper per wash than the Soap Flakes.
Wash Balls - Our best selling laundry product for machine washing. Softens water and produces effective cleaning without the use of any chemicals at all with it's quadruple cleaning action.
Soda Crystals - Stronger than Bicrarbonate of Soda but the same use. A multi-use product for all types of cleaning and laundry. Good for deep down cleaning of carpets and for removing grease in your laundry on it's own (or with wash balls). Also a kitchen de-greaser.
Liquid Soda Crystals - Same as Soda Crystals but liquid. All purpose de-greaser in a spray.
Vinegar - Secret Magic Product. You can buy this in most supermarkets for not very much and it acts as a softener in your wash instead of fabric softener (which is bad for soft towels). It is the Acetic Acid that works well and is absolutely excellent for removing stains from carpets and clothes. Best look for white vinegar, eg pickling vinegar with acetic acid level of 6% is best. We sell plant based spray vinegar that is 4% acetic acid but still effective.
Borax - Old school effective cleaner, particularly ovens. Like vinegar, there are many genuinely effective cleaning uses for this product.
We offer Ecover cleaning products because it is a popular brand that many buy, however apart from the wash powder we have not tested the whole Ecover range.
